Fruit Tree Planting

Planting fruit trees for sustainability and to generate income for communities

Fruit Tree Planting

Cause Impact

£2 ($2.5) plants a fruit tree to generate a sustainable food source and income for communities.

About the Cause

Primary Partner: Ripple Africa

Ripple Africa are working with 100 community groups to grow thousands of fruit trees each year. This not only provides food but a source of income too.

The clubs grow mango, papaya, guava, avocado and citrus fruit trees. The Fruit Tree Project Manager teaches the club members how to care for the seedlings, make natural fertiliser, identify pests, and how to protect the seedlings from livestock once planted out.

Each group also donates a proportion of their seedlings to local schools and vulnerable people in the community.
